Let’s hear it for the boys!

Remember when people were hush-hush about their Botox? Remember when only women over 50 received botox? Remember when Botox became a perfectly acceptable method of wrinkle prevention for a 30-something crowd?
As you can see, Botox has become a household name due to it’s quick, affordable and impressive results. Botulinum Toxin Type A(including Botox, Dysport and Xeomin) is up 797% since 2000.
Brought to market in 1977, initially for use treating strabismus, a problem with the eye muscles, Botox has been used to treat several things – from chronic migraines to vocal spasms to hyperhidrosis.
The latest surge has been seen in cosmetic men’s treatments. Men’s Botox treatments, being affectionately referred to as “Brotox”, are up 310% in the last decade. Which leads us to the obvious next use…Scrotox.
Yes. That’s right. Botox for your scrotum. Before you flinch, cry, laugh or close this browser window, let’s elaborate on the “why”.
The obvious benefit is decreasing wrinkles and relaxing the skin. And there’s the decrease in sweat. While this procedure is still a relatively small part of the Botox market, the surge in Scrotox has been seen in patients that are avid cyclists and distance runners. If you have ever run a 5K or marathon or hopped on a bicycle in the Summer sun you realize the benefit of this. Less sweating equates to less rubbing and chafing and a much more comfortable time.
As the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure for men in the U.S. – there were over 363,000 men treated with Botox last year – we don’t see Brotox or Scrotox going anywhere soon.

What do you think the next use will be?
